Road Queens highlights women in forestry, transport and contracting
The second episode of Road Queens is now available on YouTube. The series, initiated by Amanda Berggren, follows women working in transport, forestry and contracting – industries where female role models are still important to highlight.
In the new episode, viewers meet Linn Krogh, who runs her own forestry machinery business and operates a forwarder, as well as Alexandra Christoffersson, who runs her own haulage company and drives a crane truck.
For Elmia Wood, the connection is particularly strong through Linn Krogh and her work in the forest. Forestry is an industry with a continued need for skills, development and new role models. By showing people like Linn in their everyday working environment, Road Queens helps make the breadth of the industry more visible – and may inspire more young people and women to see a future in forestry.
The episode offers an insight into life behind the machines: responsibility, entrepreneurship, professional pride and a strong commitment to the industry. Through Linn’s and Alexandra’s stories, the series highlights both the opportunities and the variety within forestry, transport and contracting, while also showing more women taking their place in professions that have traditionally been male-dominated.
A shared initiative from three trade fairs
Entreprenad Live, Elmia Wood and Elmia Lastbil take part in Road Queens through a paid collaboration and are highlighting the series as part of a shared initiative to increase the visibility of women and young role models in the industry. For the three trade fairs, the issue is important both for the industries of today and for attracting future talent.
“For us as trade fairs, it feels both important and natural to help highlight this initiative. We operate in different industries, but we share many of the same challenges and opportunities – whether in contracting, forestry or transport. We want to help more women and young people see the opportunities within our industries,” says Ida Jaykar at Elmia.
About Road Queens
Road Queens – Girls in contracting Sweden is a 12-part YouTube series that highlights women in the transport, forestry and contracting industries. Through personal stories, viewers get to follow female drivers, machine owners and entrepreneurs in their everyday working lives – with professional pride, challenges and passion at the centre.
The initiative was started by Amanda Berggren, who wants to inspire more women to take their place in the transport, forestry and contracting industries. Amanda is a well-known industry profile with close to 10,000 followers on YouTube, around 21,000 followers on Instagram, and the podcast Stock & Snack together with Nadia Stamh.
The series follows four women with different paths into the industry:
Linn Krogh runs a forestry machinery business and operates a forwarder.
Alexandra Christoffersson runs her own haulage company and drives a crane truck.
Nadia Stamh runs a timber haulage company and drives a timber truck.
Malin Anderén runs Anderén’s Maskinstation and works with excavators.
Together, they show the breadth of the transport, forestry and contracting industries – and the different routes into them.
