Rostfria Svetsmontage grows through strong relationships

Since 1989, family-owned Rostfria Svetsmontage has grown and developed alongside its customers. Today, the company manages the entire manufacturing process – from laser cutting to final assembly. This November, Rostfria Svetsmontage returns to Elmia Subcontractor, this time as part of IUC Sweden’s joint stand. And for Managing Director Anette Berggren, the fair is about business, new relationships – and a little bit of a company get-together.

Rostfria Svetsmontage is based in Bjuv in north-western Skåne, Sweden, where its 25 employees manufacture advanced stainless-steel machinery and equipment for customers in industries including food production, water treatment and environmental technology.

The company was founded in 1989 and has evolved considerably since then. Today, Rostfria Svetsmontage is a systems supplier capable of supporting a customer’s product throughout the entire manufacturing process.

– We can manage the entire process, from laser cutting, bending and welding to machining and final assembly, says Anette Berggren, Managing Director of Rostfria Svetsmontage.

An anniversary led the way to Elmia

Rostfria Svetsmontage’s relationship with Elmia Subcontractor actually began with an anniversary celebration. When the company turned 20, it had just launched a new logo and visual identity. Naturally, they wanted to show it off – and Elmia Subcontractor became the place to do it.

– We thought the fair was a great opportunity to showcase the change. Then, when we celebrated our 30th anniversary, we exhibited again, says Anette.

Since then, the company has participated three times, both with its own stand and as part of Region Skåne’s joint stand. This year, it is time to return once again, now alongside other companies in IUC Sweden’s joint stand.

And the next milestone is actually not that far away.

– In three years, we’ll be celebrating our 40th anniversary, says Anette.

“It’s a bit like a company get-together”

Anniversaries aside, it is above all the meetings and personal connections that keep bringing Rostfria Svetsmontage back to Elmia Subcontractor.

– It’s a bit like a company get-together where you meet many of your existing customers and suppliers. But above all, you want to network and make new connections.

For a company that has built much of its business around close customer relationships, meeting face to face still plays an important role. Digital channels work very well once a relationship has been established – but Anette believes they have a harder time replacing that first meeting.

– Meeting in person is hard to beat when you want to expand your network. Once you’ve made that initial connection, digital channels work perfectly well.

So when the doors open to Elmia Subcontractor in November, there will be familiar faces to reconnect with – and hopefully plenty of new ones to meet. And perhaps, somewhere among the conversations taking place in the exhibition aisles, the next long-lasting customer relationship will begin.
