Important information about the network

Recommendations

As a general security measure, Elmia recommends that visitors’ devices be protected by:
- A personal hardware or software firewall.
- Regularly updated antivirus software.
- The use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) when connecting to the company’s network or data.

Disclaimer

Elmia accepts no responsibility for the functionality or content of any website or service connected to Elmia’s network. Elmia accepts no responsibility for faults or damage to visitors’ equipment, unless such faults or damage are solely and exclusively attributable to Elmia.

Although Elmia will carry out servicing and necessary technical maintenance, Elmia does not guarantee that the Internet service provided will function fully, continuously, securely or without delay or interruption. The user must accept such limitations on use.

Elmia’s liability for damages, whether direct or indirect, arising from the Internet service not being available to the user during the trade fair – for example, due to technical problems – is limited to a refund of part or all of the fee paid for the Internet service. The user may not claim any further compensation.

Terms and Conditions

  • The user is responsible for adhering to lawful, ethical, moral and generally accepted standards of behaviour on the Internet and in email when using Elmia’s network. Elmia reserves the right to suspend or restrict a user’s access to or use of the network if the terms and conditions are not respected.
  • The customer is responsible for their own configuration and equipment, such as the connection of computer equipment, installations and the like. Examples of faults that fall outside Elmia AB’s area of responsibility include loose cables, incorrectly configured gateways, DNS and IP addresses, a home page redirecting to an intranet or another site specific to the customer, or other customisations that do not comply with Elmia AB’s configuration requirements, etc.
  • A support charge in accordance with the current price list (currently SEK 995 per hour or part thereof) will be levied for support called out if the fault is found to fall outside Elmia AB’s area of responsibility.
Before requesting support, the customer must have checked that power cables and network cables are correctly connected to the equipment. If support is called out and it is discovered that the connection is not working due to, for example, loose cables, the customer will be charged the support fee. If the fault has been rectified by the customer after support has been called out, the support team must be informed of this so that the call-out can be cancelled, for example by the customer contacting the exhibition information desk. If this is not done, the customer will be charged a call-out fee equivalent to 30 minutes’ support.

Exhibitors with their own networking equipment

The wired connection provided by Elmia is, in its standard configuration, intended for use with up to one computer or other device. If an exhibitor wishes to connect more than one computer or other device to the network, they must contact their sales representative and order an upgrade to the connection in order to connect multiple devices.

If the need for additional connections arises during the exhibition, the exhibitor must contact the information desk and place an order for extended connection options.

Only network equipment allocated by Elmia may be used in the stand; no other network equipment is permitted, as it may adversely affect Elmia’s network.

If the exhibitor nevertheless needs to use their own equipment in their stand, they must contact Elmia AB’s IT department before installation takes place.
Should support be required for the customer’s network to ensure it works in conjunction with Elmia’s network or with equipment hired from Elmia, the customer will be charged the standard support fee.

Elmia AB reserves the right to disconnect the customer’s equipment if it interferes with Elmia’s network in any way.
