Two world premieres at the Volvo Trucks stand

Two world premieres at the Volvo Trucks stand

When Volvo Trucks Sweden exhibits at Elmia Lastbil, two world premieres take centre stage. One is a special anniversary model created ahead of Volvo’s upcoming 100th anniversary in 2027, while the other is a new electric truck designed for Nordic conditions. Stefan Strand, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks Sweden, sums it up:
– This year, everything at our stand is new!

As always, Volvo Trucks has put a great deal of thought into its presence at the fair. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover both the exclusive 100 Year Edition and a completely new electric truck developed for Nordic conditions. Two world premieres at the same stand!

A world premiere ahead of Volvo’s 100th anniversary

In 2027, it will be 100 years since the first Volvo vehicle took to the roads. Ahead of the anniversary year, Volvo Trucks has developed a special anniversary model, the 100 Year Edition, which is now being unveiled for the very first time at Elmia Lastbil.

The model brings together a century of Swedish truck history with today’s technology and design. For visitors to the fair, it offers a first glimpse of how Volvo Trucks is choosing to mark one of the biggest milestones in the company’s history. Stefan Strand, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks Sweden, says:

– We’re kicking off our celebrations here at Elmia Lastbil by unveiling our special edition truck at the stand! And the celebrations will continue throughout the coming year.

New electric truck for Nordic conditions

The second world premiere looks firmly to the future. Volvo is unveiling its new electric model, designed to meet the demands faced by transport operators in the Nordic region.

Cold temperatures, long distances, heavy loads and the need for high availability all place particular demands on the electrification of heavy-duty transport. The new model has been developed with these conditions firmly in mind.

– This model can be charged using a Megawatt Charging System, which enables significantly higher charging power and therefore shorter charging stops for heavy-duty electric vehicles, explains Stefan Strand.

From 100 years of history to the next generation of transport

The two premieres also offer two different perspectives on Volvo Trucks. The anniversary model looks back on a history that will soon span an entire century, while the new electric truck points towards the future of transport. At Elmia Lastbil, the two come together at the same stand.

– Elmia Lastbil is a unique meeting place that brings together almost everyone in the industry. A lot of that comes down to its location here in Jönköping, which is a natural crossroads for so many people in the industry, says Stefan Strand.

Visitors can see both world premieres from Volvo Trucks Sweden at Elmia Lastbil, stand A01:33.
