Elmia Lastbil, Budi and Sam-Hjälp Launch New Joint Charity Auction for Ukraine

For the third year in a row, a charity auction is being held at Elmia Lastbil in collaboration with Budi Auktioner & Värderingar and the aid organization Sam-Hjälp. The aim is to raise additional funds for war-torn Ukraine while engaging the entire industry in a united effort.

At the past two fairs, the auction has collectively raised nearly SEK 450,000 in support of Ukraine. The interest and engagement from both exhibitors and visitors has been strong, and ahead of this year’s event, the ambition is to contribute even more.

“Elmia Lastbil is a meeting place for the entire haulage industry, but also a platform where we can make a difference together. That the charity auction is being held for the third fair in a row demonstrates the strong commitment within the industry. We are proud to help make this initiative possible,” says Björn Swenning, Exhibition Manager for Elmia Lastbil.

A Collaboration that Mobilizes the Industry

The auction is organized by Budi Auktioner & Värderingar, responsible for its implementation in close cooperation with Elmia Lastbil and Sam-Hjälp. The format invites exhibitors and other participants to donate products, services or experiences that are then auctioned off during the fair, with all proceeds going directly to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

“It feels fantastic that, for the third fair in a row at Elmia Lastbil, we can create a charity auction together with both exhibitors and the fair organizer. Over the past two years, we have been able to contribute nearly half a million kronor for Ukraine — and this year we’re aiming to set a new record,” says Johannes Winberg, Founder and Appointed Valuer at Budi Auktioner & Värderingar.

Delivering Support Where It’s Needed Most

Sam-Hjälp is the organization that receives and distributes the funds raised to Ukraine. The organization works continuously with humanitarian aid efforts to ensure that support reaches people in need.

“The support from the industry and initiatives like this make a concrete difference. Thanks to the collaboration with Elmia Lastbil and Budi, we can continue our work to assist people in Ukraine with essentials and other necessary aid,” says Jörgen Ruther, Executive Director of Sam-Hjälp.

Elmia Lastbil will be held 19–22 August at Elmia in Jönköping, bringing together the entire transport industry under one roof. The charity auction is one of several programme highlights combining business, networking and engagement with global issues.
