Each year, Sansera manufactures 700,000 connecting rods. Each connecting rod is manually lifted and checked before leaving the factory. Each rod weighs about 5 kg, meaning there are many lifts in a shift.
Using AI, parts of the manufacturing process can be automated and the connecting rods can be controlled, improving the working environment, streamlining quality control and allowing each connecting rod to be tracked in the production chain.
CGit has developed an AI model for detecting surface defects and faults that uses image data and sensors to perform real-time inspections and classifications.
