The industry´s real leader

They recruit via gaming, make major investments in innovation, and seldom say no to their customers. Elmia Subcontractor’s 2019 ambassador, Gnosjö Automatsvarvning, takes the lead towards the industry’s future.

Today Elmia Subcontractor announces the first of three ambassadors for this year’s trade fair: Gnosjö Automatsvarvning. The small metalworking company in Småland is putting itself on the map with a unique innovation focus.

“For us it’s self-evident to work towards leading development,” says CEO Linda Fransson.

Capture the digital generation
To lead development, you must often forge your own path over new ground, which the company most certainly does. Despite having 65 employees, it has no dedicated sales person – unlike most other companies. In contrast, an innovation leader was hired in autumn 2017 to secure the future of the business. One result of this is a VR simulator for machine training, which the company launched at the LAN festival DreamHack in June and is exhibiting at Elmia Subcontractor in November. Along the same line, the company is also running the news website bravenewbusiness.se, which in the long term aims to establish relationships with future generations.

“The people who will start working for us in five, ten or twenty years will be born and grown up in the digital environment. If we don’t create the conditions for our brand to exist clearly within that digital world, it will be even harder for us to reach them. That’s why we launched bravenewbusiness.se just over a year ago.”

Quality before price
This long-term perspective is also obvious in the company’s relationships with customers and suppliers. But for Gnosjö Automatsvarvning it is not a matter of keeping the customer at any price, Fransson says.

“We stand up for the components and by extension for our customers by not lowering the price or the quality. That can be tough sometimes but in return we build long-term relationships, in which we also often function as a knowledge bank for our customers.”
