Founded in 1983, Bandstål has focused on making steel mill products more user-friendly for the manufacturing industry. With long experience in cut and slit thin sheet products, the company has built up strong expertise. Based in Kopparberg, in the heart of Bergslagen, they have developed close partnerships with SSAB and local suppliers, something that gives them a unique position in the market.
– We are fast, flexible, and service-oriented, and we can deliver within hours instead of days. That’s a big advantage for our customers, says Mikael Larsson, CEO of Bandstål.
Bandstål has taken part in Elmia Subcontractor since one of the halls first opened in the 1990s. Returning year after year is a conscious choice.
– It’s our tradition to schedule meetings with both existing and new customers during Elmia. Since so many people are on site, we can meet most of our customers in just three busy days, something that would otherwise take weeks of travel and planning. That makes the fair an extremely time-efficient and valuable meeting place for us. It saves time and lets us quickly catch up on what’s happening in the industry, says Mikael.
He also highlights the fair as an important market barometer. Here, Bandstål gets a clear sense of where the market is heading and can easily pick up on new trends and needs.
Bandstål exhibits alongside several other companies within Sebbot Holding, the industrial group it is part of. Over the years, the stand has grown to include more companies, creating a broader and stronger presence at the fair.
– We want to show that we are more than just Bandstål. By highlighting the entire group, we demonstrate that we are a strong and versatile partner ready to take on complex challenges, Mikael explains.
For Bandstål, the fair is not only about showcasing what they do, but also about understanding where the market is going. With many exciting companies and industry talks at Elmia, it’s the perfect place to feel the pulse of the industry.
– We usually say that Elmia is where we have our ear to the ground. This is where we hear what’s happening and where the industry is headed. Personally, I’ve been part of Elmia for many years, and I truly believe it’s the perfect meeting place for connecting with customers, suppliers, and industry colleagues, concludes Mikael.
