The idea for Skogsverket grew out of a combination of passion for forests, machinery and entrepreneurship.
- We actually started with a rental business where we rented out machines for wood and woodworking. It quickly became apparent that many of the people who rented our machines were also interested in buying them, says Jon.
Both he and co-founder Anders Berg have worked in the forest for many years, both with wood production and contract work.
- We have seen for ourselves what the needs and challenges are. This has helped us to develop a range that is both efficient and affordable.
Functionality in focus
What gaps did you see in the product range?
- There was a lack of flexible and affordable machines for small and medium-sized forest owners. Many options on the market were either too expensive or too simple and lacked functionality.
Which machines have emerged as your best sellers?
- Our wood processors and band sawmills. We have found a level that provides affordable machines with high capacity and ease of use.
Skogsverket has quickly established a large customer base throughout Sweden:
- Our customers are often forest owners, contractors, wood producers or carpenters. They are people who either want to process their own timber or build a business around firewood and wood production. We also have many customers who want a flexible solution for producing wood for their own needs.
Brand new product to be launched?
Planning is currently underway for Skogsverket's premiere at Elmia Wood:
- One of the world's largest forestry fairs and an obvious place for us to showcase our products. A perfect opportunity to meet both new and existing customers, get direct feedback and make important contacts.
- We want to meet everyone who is interested in streamlining their firewood and wood production. It can be small business owners, forest owners, entrepreneurs or people interested in machinery who want smart and affordable solutions. If everything goes well in the last few weeks, we may also have a brand new product to showcase at our stand, reveals Jon Grip.
