Pendulum forwarder new at ProSilva

Pendulum forwarder new at ProSilva
- I think the test track for our J20 forwarder will be very busy,’ says Jukka-Pekka Syvälahti of ProSilva in a somewhat secretive manner.
And when he shows some pictures of the new eight-wheeled forwarder, it's easy to see why.

The J20 takes on the terrain with the help of pendulum arms on both the front and rear bogies.
- By being able to pendulum, the machine is extremely space-efficient in, for example, a thinning operation, it does not sway and risk damaging the remaining stock.  It requires no more space than the harvester.

The goal is a machine that is always level and always has the right speed and drift on each wheel. In addition to terrain accessibility, this also reduces ground damage and improves operator comfort.

- The J20 has full hydrostatic drive, so each wheel has its own hydraulic motor, allowing us to control the speed and power of each wheel individually. This allows us to work in a way that is very gentle on the forest floor. Without wheel spin and rutting.

Over a metre in ground clearance!

At Elmia Wood, it will be possible to test drive on the test track at ProSilva's stand:
- The minimum ground clearance is 35 centimetres, but thanks to the pendulum arms we can get over a metre of ground clearance and you can cross obstacles such as stones and stumps without any problems, says Jukka-Pekka.

In just a few years, the J20 has gone from the drawing board to a fully functional concept.
- We based a lot on driver comfort and that it must be fun to drive, says Jukka-Pekka.

At the stand at Elmia Wood you will also find some of ProSilva's harvesters. "The most economical and environmentally friendly forestry machine." is the slogan:
- Maintenance costs for ProSilva harvesters are low and fuel efficiency is high. Not least through the unique drive system where we control the speed and torque of each wheel individually. This, combined with the machine's excellent power to weight ratio, gives a smooth machine with a small turning radius and low centre of gravity. Features that contribute to a minimal footprint on the forest floor.

Looking for a distributor in Sweden

And when it comes to important goals for this year's fair, Jukka-Pekka is clear:
- We are actively looking for a distributor in Sweden, so I hope we can meet exciting stakeholders. Then we want to meet entrepreneurs of course. Come and test drive the J20! But forest owners are also important to us so that they can choose which machines they want to harvest. In fact, the biggest is not always the best, concludes Jukka-Pekka.

The machine can be test driven at Elmia Wood in stand WC981.
