Trade fairs and events

Meetings at Elmia have an impact on the future. Not only are we a platform for innovation when industries come together, but everything surrounding our events has an impact on sustainable development.

Structure and systematic follow-up

In 2024, we began the process of quality assuring our events. To see how we can develop ourselves and our work, we are working systematically and structurally to map each event in relation to social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Our first trade fair in 2024 to be mapped is Elmia Lastbil.

We also systematically follow up on what is good and what measures are needed to reduce negative impact. This may involve, for example, accessibility, accommodation, safety, communication, transport, food, and our waste.

The Greentime planning tool supports us in structuring and systematically following up. It gives us a good overview of our sustainability work and developments over time.

In the future, our customers will be able to quality assure their events at Elmia through Greentime. And in the long run, we will also be able to certify both our own and our customers' events as “Sustainable Events.”

We want to inspire and spread knowledge

At our trade fairs, we place particular emphasis on spreading knowledge about sustainability to the various industries that meet at Elmia. This may involve elements in stage and seminar programs or areas at trade fairs focusing on sustainability, for example:

  • Elmia Subcontractor: Sustainability Arena
  • Elmia Garden: The climate-smart garden

Our interior design at the trade fairs

Our designers strive to reuse materials for stands and public areas at the trade fair. One example is stages for seminar programs that can be reused at several trade fairs.
