Sustainability - our impact
|
We work with sustainability for our sake and yours – but above all for those who come after us. Our vision and core values are permeated by sustainability. We have long worked to be sustainable through various choices, measures, and activities. But to achieve our vision, we are constantly developing ourselves and our operations to be sustainable. |

Sustainability is about living and acting in a way today that does not jeopardize the needs and opportunities of future generations, even if we meet today's needs. Sustainability is divided into three areas that interact and are equally important: economic, social, and environmental sustainability. For those of us who work with trade fairs, meetings, and events, it is about working in a structured way with sustainability in our events—and in everything around them. To continuously improve, we focus on what has a positive impact and work to minimize what has a negative impact. |

We want to contribute to sustainable development. An event ultimately affects both people and nature through, for example, purchasing, travel, and material use. By actively working with sustainability in our operations, from the inside out, we have the opportunity to increase the positive impact and reduce the negative impact. We want to inspire and help you become more sustainable by choosing Elmia. |

We maintain and developOur overall sustainability work affects every single project we have in the form of trade fairs, events, meetings, and conferences. This includes, for example, how we take care of our facilities and our employees, how we adapt our offerings, what materials we choose, and what food we serve. It also concerns our internal and external processes, as well as how our systems and tools function and are utilized. We continuously work on all of these aspects to maintain and develop them—and sometimes, certain aspects may need to be discontinued. There are occasions when all Elmia employees are involved, while other aspects are managed as projects or carried out as part of ongoing work. We work in a structured and systematic wayIn our projects, we work in a structured way and monitor our positive and negative impact on the environment and society based on the global goals. Continuous monitoring makes it clear what is good and what measures are needed. Here are some examples of what sustainability in an event means based on the three areas:
Along the way, we share what we are doing, how it is going, and what we are learning—here on the web and on our social media channels. Read more about our structured approach and systematic follow-up |
