"We want to take advantage of our momentum" - Promoco gears up for the future
Promoco has had an eventful year with several strategic initiatives – a new sales manager and vice president have taken office, the engine side has been strengthened and the warehouse operations have been expanded. All of this is part of the company's purposeful growth journey. When founder and CEO Sven-Erik Grassón talks about the development, it is with a clear sense of forward thinking.

– We feel that we have a very positive momentum in the market right now, and we want to take advantage of that. Our customers appreciate the deep expertise we have within our four business areas Term, Test, Motor, and Power. This has led to a strong order intake, and now it is about building on it, he says.

Customer-specific solutions in focus

An important part of Promoco's investment is the growing assembly business. By offering partial assembly and customized solutions, the company strengthens its customers' efficiency and competitiveness.

– Our assembly business creates clear added value. Many customers want to streamline their own production by letting us do the pre-assembly, says Sven-Erik.

– We can also offer customer-specific products, which are gears for engines that we customize and assemble together with our own engines. This allows us to deliver complete solutions that strengthen both the customer's business and their product offering.

He describes how the area is growing rapidly, and how it makes Promoco an increasingly strong partner in customers' development projects.

Elmia Subcontractor – an obvious meeting place

When Elmia Subcontractor takes place this autumn, Promoco will once again be there. For the company, the fair is a given arena, both as a showcase and as a meeting place.

– Elmia Subcontractor gives us a unique opportunity to meet many customers, both new and existing, in a short time. We also get the chance to meet partners with whom we can create new, unique offers together, says Sven-Erik. Being able to meet face to face is still of crucial importance to us, especially in a time when much communication takes place digitally.

News and flexibility

Ahead of this year's fair, Promoco will present several new products, including thermal materials. But it is equally important to show how flexible they are when it comes to customer customization. Sven-Erik explains:

– Many of our customers have unique needs, and we like to find solutions that really suit them. This can involve everything from pre-punched gap pads and air pressure solutions to specially adapted electric motors and test fixtures.

A clear goal is to get involved early in the customers' development process.

– When we get involved already in the idea phase, we can develop the right solution from the start. This saves both time and costs in development, and leads to better results for the customer.

The memory that became a milestone

During his many years at Elmia Subcontractor, Sven-Erik has accumulated many memories, but one stands out a little.

– What we always appreciate most is the energy on site. There is something special about seeing the entire industry together, exchanging experiences and feeling the genuine interest in our products. It gives a fantastic boost for the coming years, he says.

He particularly remembers a meeting from 2019, when they met Magnus Persson at Swema.

– Magnus had just sold his company to Woods Production Sweden AB/Elfi Elektrofilter AB, and that meeting was the starting point for a very exciting development project. Together with Bjursås, we developed an ozone cooler – a project that laid the foundation for the more complex and composite solutions we make today.

The project combined cooling components from Pada with processed stainless steel from Bjursås Mekaniska, and was assembled in Promoco's own factory.

– It was a real milestone for us. Today we have several similar collaborations that provide high added value – both for us and for our customers.

Looking forward to the meetings

As this year's fair approaches, it's clear what Sven-Erik is most looking forward to.
– Meeting people! It's always the meetings that make the fair. That's where ideas are born, collaborations take shape and new business starts. And just like in previous years, we hope that many people will find their way to our stand – to talk, be inspired and see what we can create together.
