An important fair for Danish subcontractors

Sweden is still one of Denmark’s most important trading partners in the world. And Danish subcontractors can offer high-quality speciality products.
“Elmia Subcontractor is crucial for their contact with the Swedish market,” says Marianne Peters, head of the trade department at Denmark’s embassy in Stockholm.

The joint Danish stand in Hall B held a reception on Wednesday at Elmia Subcontractor. The Danish embassy in Stockholm hosted the event and Marianne Peters spoke to a large gathering of interested visitors and exhibitors.
“Danish suppliers are known for their cutting-edge expertise and for delivering high-quality products,” she said. “Many of them are market leaders in their field and also have an excellent product development programme.”

Eight subcontractors plus the Danish embassy are exhibiting at the joint stand. A number of them come back to Elmia Subcontractor year after year, whilst others are new here and want to penetrate the Swedish market.
“Our subcontractors compete with Swedes, of course, and it’s hard for us to access the big companies in Sweden,” Peters says. “However, Danish suppliers can offer speciality products that are not available anywhere else.”

The exhibiting companies at the joint Danish stand supply products in various sectors – such as rubber, aluminium, steel, plastic and glass. This is also true for Danish suppliers as a whole.
“They operate within a wide field and supply all sorts of industries, everything from agricultural machinery to the food industry,” Peters says.
