Pop-up Expo

In 2017 Elmia Subcontractor launched Pop-up Expo, a mini exhibition within the exhibition with different theme and content every day.

Today’s fast paced development make it crucial for established companies to look to the knowledge and methodology of young start-up companies. With ”Emerging technologies” took steps to building bridges to the future for established companies. Exhibiting start-ups showed technologies such as virtual reality, augmentet reality and artificial intelligence.

The 8 tech smart start-ups exhibiting in Pop-up Expo November 14th were also participants in the new competition Subcontractor Jumpstart – powered by Teknikföretagen. More about the competition and its winner here.

SMSE, Swedish M2M Service Enablers is an alliance of over 60 Swedish IoT start-ups whose aim is to position Sweden as a leading  IoT country.

 

To consider the digital and connected aspects of a product is faast becoming a natural part of product development alongside material, design and construction. On November 15th there were an added number of IoT companies at the exhibition and IoT as a topics took main stage at Subcontractor Direct and Subcontractor IoT Arena.

Thursday the 16th November Elmia put extra focus on the opportunities of export by looking at markets, advice on getting started and some concrete action with the competition Pitch it! In a Dragon’s den format the region of Jönköping and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth took on the role of investors and let companies pitch their ideas for internationalisation and digitalisation.

17th of November was a day focused on the job market. In a co-operation between Elmia and Trygghetsrådet a matchmaking was held for companies on the hunt for the right talent.
