Filled halls at Elmia’s industrial fairs

Success was ensured when Elmia created a common arena for the entire Swedish manufacturing industry. The four days featured record visitor numbers and business deals made on the spot. 

A new trade fair for sheet metal working at Elmia in Jönköping, Sweden, has received a very positive reception from the industry. Elmia Sheet Metal will be held alongside three other trade fairs on 10-13 May 2016, jointly forming an important, strong foundation for the Swedish manufacturing industry.

Elmia Welding & Joining Technology has established itself as the industry’s leading trade fair in Sweden. On Friday the fair closed after four days with a high tempo in the exhibition hall.
“It’s clear that there is a great need for an industry fair that focuses on welding and joining technology, and the format is here to stay,” says Lina Kåvestam, the fair’s project manager.

On 1 July 2014 the EN 1090 standard comes into effect. However, many companies have still not become certified in accordance with it.
"The most important thing is that they've started the process and are in the system," says Ieva Kisieliute, a lawyer at the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket). She attended a seminar about EN 1090 at Elmia Welding & Joining Technology.
