Rules

In order for the jury to assess a product, the entry form and required appendices must be complete and as detailed as possible on the date of entry, by 28 February 2019 at the latest. Entries with insufficient documentation that does not answer the questions on the form will not be assessed. A company can submit a maximum of three entries for consideration.

Products that can be entered for assessment:

  • The product must be a technological innovation or new technology in the forest industry.
  • The product must not have been marketed in Sweden before 1 January 2017.
  • At the time of entry the product must be available on the Swedish market.
  • Depending on its application, the product must involve an improvement in the areas of economics/productivity, work environment, product quality or the environment.

Products in the following areas cannot be entered for assessment:

  • Input goods such as chemical and/or organic preparations such as pesticides, fertilisers etc.
  • Business models or other types of theoretical models
  • Technology that is outside the fair’s areas of forestry and timber logistics.

Claimed product improvements that are not obvious must be confirmed by independent test results or similar. Similarly, information about testing grounds must be enclosed where relevant. Pictures, films, product brochures etc. that describe the product must be enclosed if they exist.

At least one picture must be high definition (300 dpi) and Elmia must have the right to freely use the picture in connection with SkogsElmia and SkogsElmia Innovation Award.

The jury will then select the winners from among the nominated entries. The nominated products will be classified into three groups depending on their degree of innovation based on a scale that has been produced. The scale assigns points based on various criteria. The average number of points then determines whether the product will receive gold or silver or only be mentioned.

The products that win awards will be announced about a month before SkogsElmia 2019. The award ceremony will be held at SkogsElmia on 6–8 June 2019.
