Day 1 of SkogsElmia ends

A positive and enjoyable mood concluded the first day of SkogsElmia, with 7,354 visitors choosing to celebrate Sweden’s National Day at the forestry fair.

The sun shone over the fairgrounds and the temperature reached almost 30 degrees. But that didn’t deter either the exhibitors or the visitors. The latter were queuing at the entrance gate when the day began with County Governor Helens Jonsson giving the inaugural speech and the historical re-enactment society Smålands Karoliner firing a cannon salute.

The exhibitors have presented the industry’s latest innovations. We’ve posted some videos of exhibitors’ new offerings on our Facebook page – so do check that out too.

“In all the years we’ve been exhibiting at the fair, we’ve never had so many of the right kind of customers here. It’s been really busy at our stand and we can report many positive discussions,” says a satisfied Anders Ehrenström of Sydved.

Visitors also confirmed the day was successful, with many saying they plan to return tomorrow. The catering service says that one of its on-site restaurants, Birch, served over 500 plates of beef, mashed potatoes and horseradish. The traffic wardens were happy at the well-behaved drivers and shepherded over 3,400 cars to the parking sites. Many more people have also parked their camper vans and caravans.

SkogsElmia concludes its first day on a positive note and looks forward to welcoming you back tomorrow, Friday at 09.00.
