    “Right now the total stand area booked is actually higher than before the fair in 2005 and exhibitor numbers are 25 per cent above the same month in 2005,” says Torbjörn Johnsen, business area manager at Elmia.

  • The heat is on for the world’s biggest forestry fair

    Preparations are now intensifying at the Elmia Wood site outside Jönköping in the heart of the south Swedish forest. Trees are being felled, roads upgraded, gravel areas laid and electricity brought in to new stretches of the trail. Full-scale forestry operations are Elmia Wood’s hallmark and it is this live action that draws crowds from around the world.
    “Exhibitors at Elmia Wood demonstrate technology and know-how for the entire forest lifecycle,” says project manager Per Jonsson.

  • Forecasts were wrong

    In contrast to the predictions of many industry analysts, new registrations of forest machines in Sweden increased strongly in 2007. The number of forwarders sold went up by almost 28 per cent.

    "Sales were even higher than in 2005, when Hurricane Gudrun hit," says Per Jonsson, project manager of the Elmia forestry fairs.
