Filled halls at Elmia’s industrial fairs

Success was ensured when Elmia created a common arena for the entire Swedish manufacturing industry. The four days featured record visitor numbers and business deals made on the spot.

The fourth industrial revolution is at the door. To catch up with developments Sweden has to get a move on – preferably now. This was the challenge given by Phillip Ramin when he opened the conference on digitalisation’s opportunities and challenges for Swedish industry.

One of the world’s leading manufacturers of machines that make metal-cutting tools is exhibiting at Elmia Machine Tools. By the second day DMG MORI had already signed deals worth 2.3 million euro.

Jonas Whilborg, CEO of Stenbergs, knew the fair would be a success, especially given that willingness to invest in the industry is starting to increase again.

“It’s been four very profitable days. I’m positively surprised at the result,” he says.

A new trade fair for sheet metal working at Elmia in Jönköping, Sweden, has received a very positive reception from the industry. Elmia Sheet Metal will be held alongside three other trade fairs on 10-13 May 2016, jointly forming an important, strong foundation for the Swedish manufacturing industry. 

The Swedish manufacturing industry will gain a new trade fair and meeting place at Elmia in Jönköping in 2016. The new fair Elmia Machine Tools will immediately be in the strong company of two well-established fairs, Elmia Automation and Elmia Welding & Joining Technology.
