Convert visitors into customers

Exhibiting at a fair generates tremendous opportunities for new business. To realise these opportunities, you need to know who has visited your stand. Here are a few tips to make it easy for you.

1. Plan the way you deal with visitors to the stand. Consider whether you should deal with different types of customer in different ways. Perhaps your A customers should be treated differently to your D customers?

2. The visitor’s badge contains two important pieces of information: visitor category and visitor ID. The visitor category denotes which group the visitor belongs to. The numbers in the visitor ID give you access to all the information provided by the visitor during registration.

3. Once you have determined which category the visitor belongs to, treat the visitor in the planned way. Make a note of the visitor ID to register him/her in a computer connected to the Internet, either immediately or at a later stage.

4. Find out what the customer is interested in from you. Our website enables you to change the categories and the activities you want to carry out afterwards.

5. Once you have registered a visitor, other people can also view the contact list you create. It may for example be worth giving someone back at the office access to the website, to enable your company to send information to the visitor quickly, even before he or she arrives home. Impressive!

Simplify follow-up of your visitors

The process of noting the visitor ID and registering the visitor on our website creates a list which you can download and continue to work with.

The list will be in the form of a tab-separated text file and can be imported into, say, Excel to create labels or used for mail merging. If you would like to find out more about what to do, contact Exhibitor Service who will be happy to help.

The beauty of this solution is that you don’t have to input data about all your visitors after the fair – it’s already been done, by the visitors themselves! Leaving you free to concentrate on the selling, rather than the administration!

Don’t steal time for registration

Using a number code as ID makes it easy for you to ‘capture’ the visitor. This can be done so quickly that you don’t even need to ‘steal’ time from your conversation, which can often be quite short in a fair environment.

After all, it’s far better to spend time finding out about the customer’s needs rather than asking for his/her name, address, e-mail address…

Elmia’s contact registration cards, which are available to purchase from the information desk, can be used for writing down the details on the customer’s card or on your own contact form. And that’s it!

Achieve better results!

Did you know that the majority of visitors feel they don’t receive the expected follow-up from their visit to a fair?

Many exhibitors end their fair participation too early. A fair or exhibition is only over once the follow-up has been done and the evaluation is complete. This is why it’s a good idea to set aside the days you need to fit in the follow-up, so you can exceed your visitors’ expectations!
