The role of the railway is increasing in significance. It is therefore important to have a forum where news can be presented, topical issue can be discussed and the industry can come together.
That was why Elmia Nordic Rail was created. The first fair was held in 1995 and it has since taken place every other year, with participant numbers constantly rising.
The explanation behind the development lies in the fair’s concept. Railway issues are often complex and require co-operation between politicians, the business community and industry experts. The fair attracts all these groups, and this has made it a natural part of the railway sector.
