An FDF member agrees to meet the following standards:

 

a. Demo fair or exhibition

The event should to a large extent be organized in a forest or woodland setting with the possibility of showing equipment working in real life demonstrations.

b. Health & Safety – ”FDF High Health & Safety Standards"

The fair or exhibition meets the following health & safety standards:

  • The FDF-member has a clear liability fulfilling respective national laws and regulations.
  • Each exhibitor working with potentially risk-filled operations must acknowledge receipt of, and follow, documented health and safety standards.
  • Work in dialog with exhibitors to avoid risks
  • Provide adequate safety guidance to visitors
  • Have access to stand-by emergency services on site
  • Work close together with the surrounding stakeholders such as landowners and public bodies in issues such as traffic, rescue and emergency services
  • Use clearly identified safety staff to supervise safety and assist in identifying and avoiding risk situations during show hours, as well as during assembly and dismantling and other related areas of safety exposure.
  • Each member shall submit written standards or procedures for health and safety for review and of other FDF members.
  • Have an insurance policy in place that also covers risks to visitors and all other personnel on the site.
  • Plan the layout of the fair/exhibition so that potentially dangerous situations are eliminated

c. Quality - ”FDF High Quality Standards”

The fair/exhibition meets the following quality standards:

  • Has a written quality policy.
  • Able to present and report official visitor numbers that are to be counted and reported according to the principles of a national auditing company such as the German FKM.
  • Able to present and report official exhibitor numbers that are to be counted and reported according to the principles of a national auditing company such as the German FKM.
  • Able to present and report statistics describing the profile of the visitors, identifying business type, location, age, and gender.

d. Experience

A member of FDF must have practical experience of organizing forestry demo fairs/exhibitions.

e. Openness

A member of FDF must demonstrate an open attitude to sharing experience, expertise and best-practice with other members.
