Saab seeks new broad routes and contacts

All the visitors to Saab AB’s stand at Elmia Subcontractor are encountering a multifaceted Group of companies keen to reach out. Saab’s Gripen fighter aircraft is a known symbol of the Group but the latter’s activities have a huge wingspan over many areas.

Stefan Hansson (at left) and Per Jünke are representing Saab AB and can testify to the Group’s multifaceted nature.Saab is an incredibly complex Group with all sorts of activities.

“Gripen is at the centre but it is only one part. We are active in many fields,” explains Stefan Hansson of production at Saab Aeronautics.

He is proud that a small nation like Sweden commands such cutting-edge expertise in fields like submarines, surveillance systems, defence technology and aviation. At the fair Saab is presenting information about all its sectors but also has other reasons for exhibiting.

This year’s 3D conference was an eye-opener

It’s not the 3D printer itself but rather a knowledge and understanding of its possibilities that can make a company successful. That was the message of this year’s lead speaker at Elmia Subcontractor’s conference on additive manufacturing, Patrick Carey of Stratasys.

They received both a global overview from Patrick Carey, one of the world’s leading experts in go-to-market strategies in additive manufacturing, and concrete examples from Volvo and Siemens of how they work with additive manufacturing.

“This is a clear eye-opener that highlights all the important aspects to be considered for 3D,” comments Berndt Johansson, Strategic Business Development Manager Nolato.

Free bus from Jönköping City to Elmia

Exhibitors and visitors attending Elmia Subcontractor can travel free of charge on Jönköping city bus line 1 during the fair by showing the driver their entrance ticket or exhibitor's badge.
