Who may participate?
As a registered Main Exhibitor or Active Co-exhibitor at this year’s fair, if you have products you think could be Best in Show or may qualify for Working Environment Product of the Year, please feel free to register them, provided that:
- The product falls within a recognised category for Livestock & Technology
- The Nominations form has been fully completed and submitted to Elmia AB to arrive no later than 25th August 2008
- The product is not marketed in Sweden before 1nd October 2008
- The product in its physical form is displayed on the respective exhibitor's stand at Elmia Agriculture Livestock & Technology.
The Jury will assess the product or, where applicable, a critical component thereof, based on the information provided by the nominator and on known information from other sources. Nominated products will only be assessed by the Jury if the Nominations form has been duly completed.
Please note: registered products will automatically be judged both for Best in Show and Working Environment Product of the Year.
Assessment criteria
Best in Show
The product or critical component thereof, must:
- Essentially represent new technology.
- Contribute to improved competitiveness and/or cost-effectiveness for the user.
Particular notice will be taken of:
- Whether use of the product leads to a more a favorable effect on the environment.
- Whether use of the product leads to improved ergonomics properties and working environment.
- Quality effects on agricultural products that are the result of the product’s primary mode of use.
Working Environment Product of the Year
The product or critical component thereof, must:
- Using new technology or a new application of existing technology, to make it possible to significantly reduce or eliminate a known working environment problem for users.
Nomination forms that are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be considered by the Jury.
Judging
The Jury will be the sole arbiter of which products are to receive the accolade of “Best in Show” resp. “Working Environment Product of the Year”. Its decision will be final and not open to appeal.

Presentation of the awards
Companies with products receiving the “Best in Show” or the “Working Environment Product of the Year” awards will be presented with the awards at a ceremony to be held during the fair. This will take place in hall D at 10.30 on 22 October 2008. The press, invited guests and fair visitors will be in attendance.
