    The World Bioenergy Award is an award for an individual who has made a difference: a business leader, politician or researcher who in a crucial way has furthered the development of the bioenergy sector. The award is a sign that the achievements of this person are of outstanding importance to the field of bioenergy utilisation.The nomination process ends on 15 April.

    Chip Foose - the world's greatest car builder to Elmia!

    One of the world's greatest car builder and automotive designers is coming to this year's show. Chip Foose has inspired a whole world of car builders by television shows like "Rider" and "Overhaulin” on Discovery Channel.  Despite his young age, he has like his former employer, Boyd Coddington, become something of an institution  in the automotive world. The car he brings to Sweden is his private hot rod - Hemisfear. Behind the chairs, he has placed a Hemi V8 of 540 hp. This Easter, you have the chance to meet him in real life and get his autograph.

  • World Bioenergy 2010:
    Green electricity from previously worthless wastewater

    New technology with big potential will be presented at World Bioenergy in Jönköping, Sweden on 25–27 May. The new product is a container filled with technology which uses the heat from 55 °C water to generate electricity. The unit is called the Opcon Powerbox and was developed by the Swedish firm of Opcon.

    “The mills generate electricity from wastewater and the process also helps to meet cooling needs,” explains Niklas Johansson, vice president Opcon.

These were the questions at the ”Afternoon Tea-view of World Bioenergy 2010” held at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. More than 60 diplomats from 35 embassies were there to learn more about Swedish and global bioenergy.

    American company finds global customers in Sweden

    Bioenergy technology is not the only thing to be showcased in Jönköping, Sweden during the World Bioenergy Fair from 25-27 May 2010. Access to world markets will also be on offer.

  • First prize-winners

    Öresundståg and Port of Göteborg each received a newly established Future Transport Award on Wednesday evening, in separate categories. The prizes are awarded by Elmia in association with four leading Swedish trade publications, the aim being to highlight the transport solutions of the future.

    Rail operator Öresundståg was awarded in the Travel Management category for its work with the Sydtaxan fare. The Intermodal Goods prize went to Port of Göteborg for its key efforts, alongside industry players, in developing 24 daily commuter rail journeys to 22 locations in Sweden.

     


  • Award for Elmia’s environmental initiatives
    – The Municipality of Jönköping’s 2009 Environment Award was presented during Elmia Wood

    Elmia is not only a major trade show organiser – now the company has also been awarded for its environmental thinking.
    Today Elmia accepted the Municipality of Jönköping’s 2009 Environment Award.
    “We are proud that our environmental work has been recognised. It also gives our customers peace of mind that we take environmental issues seriously,” says Elmia Managing Director Hans Standàr.
